About the Role

An established UK law firm based close to Liverpool Street is seeking an experienced Legal Biller to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

Managing the end-to-end billing process in line with firm policies and HMRC/SRA regulations. Producing billing guides, generating narratives, and preparing WIP reports. Processing write-offs, transfers, and credit notes. Managing correspondence with the Revenue team. Handling internal billing queries in a professional and efficient manner. Managing disbursements, including counsel’s fees and foreign law firm invoices—checking accuracy and ensuring correct file allocation. Responding to payment queries from counsel’s clerks and foreign firms. Running weekly WIP reports for partners and proactively assisting them in billing aged WIP. Working with Compliance on file openings and ensuring AML documentation is complete for accurate billing. Taking ownership of the e-billing process for relevant clients. Assisting with the preparation of billing schedules as required.

Requirements

Previous experience in a legal billing or revenue role within a law firm. Strong understanding of billing workflows and compliance requirements. Excellent communication skills and confidence liaising with partners and senior stakeholders. High attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously. Experience with e-billing platforms is desirable.
